Grimy, Streetwise, and absolutely Fearless, SKS, born James Shaun Kerr, has dealt with more in his 27 years than most deal with in an entire lifetime. The streets branded this MC âSKSâ after the infamous deadly assault rifle describing his raw powerful rap style, like that of a perilous SKS weapon. Raised by a struggling single mother, he was forced to become a man at a very young age. His teenage life was mostly split between drug dealing and low paid jobs. With very few opportunities, he saw dealing drugs as not so much a crime, but a way to survive, maybe even get ahead in life. Although his lifestyle proved to be a quick way to make money and led him a status beyond nickel and dime hustling, it also brought on a world of tribulations. SKS experienced constant harassment from law enforcement and bypassed many potential charges including frequent false arrests. He was constantly pulled over and even subjected to a ATF sting operation ten minutes prior to a club performance. As he saw more and more friends and âassociatesâ end up either dead or in jail, he began to realize music offered his most promising opportunity to escape his troubles and get the wealth and success he desired. Not only was he interested in music, he was also a very talented artist and studio engineer. In fact after high-school he managed to put himself through college at the Art Institute of Atlanta where he majored in graphic design. This talent manifested itself throughout the years allowing him to design all his own artwork for his past and present CDâs as well as his web site www.atlrider.com. SKS started a recording studio in Clayton county where he developed and sold beats, recorded various style rap artists, and brilliantly mixed and mastered all material including most of his own. Some of his most recent accomplishments as an independent solo rap artist include: A commercial song which aired on Hot 107.9 morning show, numerous appearances with BET comedians in the ATL, and performances at various clubs throughout the Atlanta area. SKS has just released his new album titled, âLife in the Aâ, and plans to achieve his success as an independent artist. He has personally created a new and unique style of music which is 100 original never sampled or copied. He is determined to be successful in the entertainment industry, and certainly possesses all the style, wit, charisma, and talent to reach the very top.
