After colliding more than 12 years ago while extreme skating, Chris and Sheila are still taking things to extremes by mashing their differing musical influences and styles together. Their music is unique and diverse, spilling into many genres.

Celebrated for her extraordinary vocal talent and musical diversity, Sheila Kirsten Hughes has been dubbed a "blues angel." Her soulfulness and emotion are absolutely captivating. Her voice has drawn a broad range of comparisons from Jewel to Janis Joplin, from Tracy Chapman to Pat Benatar.

In March 2003, Sheila was thrust into the international spotlight when she was showcased on Jewel's Soul City Cafe website, a program for independent artists created by Recording Artist Jewel. Soul City Cafe called Sheila a âchampion of local musicâ for her efforts promoting independent artists through Nubzilla's Café (www.nubzilla.com/cafe), and went on to say, â...a voice thatâs both powerful and delicate, incredible range vocally and stylistically...Whatâs not to love?...We absolutely must let the world know about this extraordinary individual!â The month-long feature introduced Sheila to thousands of new fans and admirers across the globe.

Sheila Kirsten Hughes and Chris Hughes, the husband-and-wife team behind the Sheila Kirsten Hughes Band, released "Perspectives" on December 5, 2006 with a big show at the Tampa Bay Perfroming Arts Center. "Perspectives" was produced by Sheila and Chris over a 4-year time span in their live-in studio. The album contains more than 4,000 hours of recorded music, some songs boasting as many as 64 tracks of instrumentation and vocals, all performed by the Sheila Kirsten Hughes Band, with special guest guitarist Tomi on the songs "Change," "Lay It Down," and "Come Undone." Their goal was to create an album full of dramatic tension and emotional triumph in celebration of the human spirit. In order to produce the tracks the way they saw fit, Sheila and Chris learned to play several new instruments over the course of the albumâs creation. Sheila, whose repertoire already included songwriting, vocals, guitar and piano, took on the cello, violin, and lead guitar. Chris, once only comfortable behind a mixer, took on a new role as a musician starting with double bass, adding percussion, and, most recently, keyboards, all the while continuing his engineering duties in the studio and directly from the stage. The result is a rich and stunning, dark blend of ambient, soulful, jazz-tinged rock.
