Details:
SKIPPY-J (SIMON JAMES)
Born in Australia - Adelaide 1981
Grew up in Queensland Australia

Simon started his entertainment career in the film and television industry. By the age of sixteen he had appeared in nearly one hundred television commercials, stared in three television series including Skippy, Mirror Mirror II and The Wayne Manifesto not to mention several movies of the week, corporate and music videos.

It was during these many yeas as an actor, hanging on film sets, that Simon made the decision to produce his own music, stepping behind the camera to exercise his creative urges musically. At age 11 Simon recorded a pop/rap EP in collaboration with famous producer Brendan Morley which was packaged with music videos to go with the songs. Supported by a group of young dancers (other actors from Skippy) together they were labeled Marsupial Madness. Simon had a number of record companies interested is his music, but at the time, Skippy was almost canned by the Australian government for possibly being unsuitable for children, so this ultimately effected the groups recording deal.

Now 24 and currently based on the Gold Coast - Simon is a professional designer and the creative director of his own company ART REVENUE (R). This is the trademark Simon brands all of his creative projects with; films, interactive media, fashion design, commercial retail, furniture and franchise design, advertising and marketing, magazine publishing and more recently, records. Simon thinks of business as an art form, and as a designer he takes the role of the artist. Simon's portfolio of experience is rich with projects in all kinds of creative industries giving him a diversified knowledge which allows for mixed media opportunities.

Over the past two years Simon has been in production on his latest music work titled "From the land of milk and honey" a commercial release which Simon has written and produced. The album was recorded at LaLaLand Studios on the Gold Coast and was co-produced by its music director A.D.A.M. BABY. Simon is currently looking for a suitable REAL WORLD distribution company; deciding to manage the advertising and recording elements internally with ART REVENUE (R). Pre-release copies of the album have been sent to selected music industry representatives and initial promotions within the music and film industry have begun; with the production of the SKIPPY-J music videos being next on the agenda.

'From the land of milk and honey' suits a large variety of listeners. Simon says "I always tell people, if you don't like the track you're listening to, just SKIP, cause you're bound to think differently about the next". WAR ZONE has so far been dubbed the obvious track with the younger and older demographic, with THE DRUG SONG and SUNDAY AFTERNOON appealing to the 20 - 30's age group. The album has a fresh sound that explores the general culture and attitude of both the Gold Coast and Australia.

The name Skippy-J is derived from Simon's old nickname SKIP and his last name JAMES.

THE ALBUM IS BEING PLAYED ON RADIO ALL OVER AUSTRALIA
