Acoustic Rock, with lyrics that invoke vivid personal memories from the present and the past.
9 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, POP: Folky Pop
Details:
Vince Scacchitti first picked up a guitar halfway through his senior year of high school in 2001 and decided to take the non-traditional path by writing his own music instead of learning other peoples songs. What followed was a time when Vince wrote songs about his life, what happened in it, and those who surround him. He was influenced by his friends, his family, and his relationships. All key contributions to the way he writes lyrics.
Vinceâs approach to music is one of simplicity, with lyrics that invoke memories that at some point anyone and everyone can relate to. In the summer of 2004, Vince decided to put down these memories onto a record. What followed was the self produced album âGood Intentions.â The album was recorded in Vinceâs basement on an 8-track digital recorder and only featured guitar and vocals. Only a small number of this album was made for the people closest to him. In the months following, Vince began to play shows across the Northeast, including shows in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, and even a few college shows at colleges like Merrimack and Bryant. The highlight was playing in front of almost 1,000 people at the Bear Mountain Music Festival in Killington, Vermont in 2005.
As time passed Vince continued writing and soon had more material and more songs. In the summer of 2005, he traveled up north to Dover, NH to work with Aaron Katz on his next recording project. After an intense three days of pre-preduction with the backing of a full band filled with great musicians like Craig Struble (harmonica), Pat Dole (bass), Aaron Katz (drums and keyboards), and Jeff Przech (background vocals). There was even an appearance from Vinceâs father to sing background vocals and the bridge section in the song âPeterson.â The Album âGambling on Chanceâ is the first full-band album from Vince. This summer Vince remains a solo acoustic performer with shows from Massachusetts down to Virginia.
