Before he was in The Black Crowes, Marc Ford was in the Scarecrows, playing live and recording fun rockin songs starting in 1988. Besides that, the Scarecrows had a loyal following and critical approval in the 80's. It was an insetuous scene of friends/musicians playing in each others' bands like Burning Tree, Citadel, Cathedral of Tears, Social Distortion. The Scarecrows legacy lasted for ten years while sharing the stage with such important acts as Johnny Thunders, Ian Hunter - Mick Ronson, Lena Lovich, Husker Du, Violent Femmes, Janes Addiction, Dickies, Gun Club, TSOL and 45 Grave.
