Related styles: Folk: Folk Pop, Pop: Folky Pop, Solo Male Artist
People who are interested in Beatles (influence) Bob Dylan (influence) Brian Wilson (influence) should consider this download.
Details:
"...The price of gas went up, the price of blood went down, where are those brave young men that used to be in this town? Blind retribution was no solution, I've had a belly full, I've no doubt of it, I've had enough, I'm out of it!..." "Out Of It" by Carey Chaney - from the album HOPE STREET
What if every house on your street had its own song; every song a different story of some family's hopes, dreams or hangups? One neighbor is as little bit "Out Of It", somebody else got drunk again and lost his girlfriend, another neighbor is trying to figure out how to save the world.
Carey Chaney, who has been called "one of the most unknown songwriters in America", recently spoke about musical influences: "I consider myself an American Pop Musician. Musical influences are numerous, and major influences (such as Brian Wilson, Bob Dylan, and the Beatles) were in some ways internalized years ago- They continue to provide great solace and inspiration. There's a Procol Harum song called 'Pilgrim's Progress' that goes, 'The words were all writ down by one before me, we're taking turns in trying to pass them on, we're taking turns in trying to pass them on.' "
HOPE STREET: All guitars/ vocals by Carey Chaney, all songs Copyright 2011 by Carey Chaney (except "Melt Down Man"- words and music by C. Chaney, additional words by Guy Koretz)
Recorded by Carey Chaney on Fostex X-15 (Songs 1-8) and Fostex MR16 (Songs 9-10). Analog to digital transfer (Songs 1-8) and final mixing of all songs by Tony ("Tony Bones") Fiorentino at BareBones Recording, Nokomis, Florida. Special thanks to Wayne Taylor for the loan of his Fostex MR16 digital recorder, and for being the recording engineer on "Open Letter To The World".
Many thanks to my family, Dave and Betty Nipper, Lee and Nancy Peters, to two farm boys in Colorado who gave a weird-looking guitar player a ride into town (late 70's/ early 80's ?) and thanks to anyone who ever believed in the POSSIBILITY.
