Blessed with an unique voice that boasts stellar octave ranges, melodious harmonies and stunning lead vocal deliveries, Trey Lorenz's vocal instrument has stood out over two decades captivating millions of musicâs fans both consumers and celebrities.

Best known as the trusted back-up singer and SONY ATV songwriter to international superstar Mariah Carey, Lorenz has always found success by entertaining audiences with mesmeric performances with Ms. Carey ever since their first promotional tour in 1990.

Humble beginnings in Florence, SC afforded Lorenz the time and prep work to fine-tune his musical gifts that included taking vocal, piano and acting lessons during his grammar, high school and college years.

Walking in the tradition of most great vocalists, with his first singing taking place in the church, Lorenz performed with a Top 40 band called The Players, followed by a short stint with a group called Squeak & The Deep.

While a junior at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1990, Lorenz met Mariah Carey when he accompanied a friend who sang backup for her to a recording session. Needless to say, Trey was in his element, and when he sang a few high notes that matched Careyâs five-octave vocal range, a magical musical collaboration was exchanged and is still very present to this day.

In 1992 Mariah officially introduced the world to Lorenz with his appearance on the television show MTV Unplugged, where he and Carey sang a cover of the Jackson 5's "I'll Be There" - a duet the two reprised at Michael Jackson's memorial at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on July 7, 2009. This riveting Unplugged performance garnered them a #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and a Grammy nomination for best R&B Duo or Group with vocal.

That memorable television show spawned a home video, a CD and a radio classic that is performed at every concert.

Subsequently, Sony President Tommy Mottola signed Lorenz releasing his self-titled debut album spawning the Top 20 single âSomeone to hold" and the classic club hit "Photographs of Mary". While in support of this project, Trey continued to work with Mariah in the studio and on tour. He also began co-writing with Carey on her projects, which opened doors for him to work with other great talents.

In 2006 Mariah signed Lorenz to MonarC label, a label she started so she could release his critically acclaimed sophomore CD, âMr. Mistaâ.

The project yielded the fans favorite single "My Everything" which was performed on tour during Mariah's The Adventures of Mimi Tour. In the video for âMy Everythingâ Carey ostentatiously shouts to his fans just how incredible the CD is. The follow up single was the seductive âPiscesâ feat. Mariah Carey on backing-vocals.

In 2011 Lorenz has also found great success with the release two dance singles, DJ Harry Choo Choo featuring Trey Lorenz âIs This Time Goodbyeâ and the #1 UK dance record âCan I Love U Moreâ by DJ Tony Moran featuring Trey Lorenz.

Presently, Trey is working on new urban, pop, dance and gospel music that anxiously waits to be release.
