Details:
"Josh is our next generation with and old soul, and he's playing it from his heart. That is what we need more of today." - Kenny Neal

Josh Garrett is a young triple threat blues man with a winning combination of unique Cajun flavor guitar work, soulful vocals, and a killer band. I am honored to perform with him." - Jimmy Hall

Josh Garrett is a Blues/Roots singer and guitar player from New Roads, LA. He and his family relocated to the bayou town of Houma, LA (Terrebonne Parish) when he was a young child. While growing up in Houma, Josh was exposed to Cajun, Zydeco, and Blues music at the local music festivals. He picked up his fatherâs guitar when he was 12 years old and started writing songs soon after.

By age 20, he was performing several times a week in downtown Houma, LA. At age 24, Garrett was deployed with the Army to Iraq, and his music interests were put on hold for a while. Early in his 26th year he returned to the United States and civilian life with a handful of songs that were written during his deployment overseas. These songs would become his first album entitled, âChanged Manâ.

Garrett then started to travel regionally with his band (then known as the âBottomlineâ) to promote his new album. During a tour through Nashville, TN, he and his band stopped to perform at a music club know as Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar, on historic Printerâs Alley. The venue placed emphasis on South Louisiana music and had a menu full of Cajun food. After management heard the band, they were contracted to perform there every weekend for a year. Josh and the band relocated to Nashville, TN, in 2008, to perform his unique style of Louisiana Blues music with a twinge of Cajun and Zydeco. While located in Tennessee, he recorded his second album, âLive on Printerâs Alleyâ.

In 2010, Garrett returned to Louisiana, and began work on his third album, "String of Problemsâ. He says about his return, âI was rejuvenated by moving back to Louisiana; I love it here so much. Itâs my home. My family is here. My life is here. I think the music on the record reflects that.â The album, âString of Problemsâ was released by The Josh Garrett Band in August of 2011.

âI feel like Iâm at the beginning of my career. Thereâs a lot more for me to do, a lot more places to go, a lot more shows to play, and a lot more albums to record.â Josh Garrett has become known for his soulful vocals, emotional guitar work, and that "flavor" that only comes from those with Louisiana in their blood.
