Looking toward a new acoustic sound, Ben McNeil, a romantic troubadour of sorts has recently finished an EP of near Tim Buckley (circa 1969) reverberations. Currently working on a full album, collaborating with some talented, solid musicians. Ben McNeil, affectionately known as Benwardo, is taking contemporary Australian song writing towards a new corridor.
The unusually named "Archibald Hetherington nastyface" Is acoustic romanticism at it's most raw, extracting the superficiality of new love and making it real. The listener is immediately taken into this man's emotion with the subtle, emanating 'If I saw your face'. Further through the tracks, 'Painted face on feint lined paper' explores a figure through the tragedies of life, only to find hope at the end.
