Biography
The Brown Boyz originated in 1982 under the management of Deaconess Anna Brown. When the young men presented the idea of forming a gospel group to her, she encouraged them to do the work of the Lord. At that time, the young group consisted of three brothers and cousins ranging between 10 and 14. As time proceeded, the group if young boys grew into dedicated men who took their ministry seriously. They understood that their purpose was not to sing for any form or fashion, however, to minister to Godâs people. As a result, the group unanimously agreed to change their name to the Brown Boyz Ministries, which more appropriately characterized their purpose.
The Brown Boyz has been blessed to travel throughout the United States performing with an endless list of infamous artist such as The Canton Spirituals, The Williams Brothers, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee and many others. For three consecutive years, the Brown Boyz was featured in the news publication, New York Newsday, as a tribute to the group for being such positive role models in their local communities.
The Brown Boyz has developed their one unique and versatile style, which incorporates bother contemporary and traditional gospel music. With such a distinctive sound, they have been able to reach an array of audiences.
