"Guitarra sin fronteras" or "Guitar without frontiers", is a collection of funky guitar based world grooves. Being mainly a session player in his native Puerto Rico, Jorge's influences are as diverse as the music scene on the Island. Jazz, funk, bossa nova, latin and rock sounds fill the bill on this eclectic project. The album was an independent effort, arranged and produced by the guitarist, with the collaboration of the top players Puerto Rico has to offer including his brother Paco Laboy on nylon string guitar, Amuni Nacer, Angel David Matos, José Lugo, Arnaldo Torres, Héctor "Perucho" Rivera and Franky Suárez on keyboards, Junior Irizarry, Ramón Vázquez and Edgardo Sierra on bass, José Jiménez and Efraín Martínez on drums, Raúl Rodríguez on percussion, Gisselle Solis on vocals, José "Chegüito" Encarnación and José "Furito" Rios on sax, Luis Aquino on trumpet and Jorge Díaz on trombone.
