"Almost There" is very hard to classify because I allowed in a great variety of song styles. It's easiest to list a brief description of each song by style and influences. Almost all of the songs feature carefully layered vocals and interesting harmony singing. A unique feature is that I played or programmed all the instruments!

1) Power pop/rock with a little Brit pop, a little Beach Boys and a strong political message
2) Pop with a touch of Americana and a little spirituality
3) Acoustic Folk-spiritual
4) Techno-style, influenced by Madonna
5) Retro dance/disco pop (written long before I heard CeeLo)
6) Country somewhat in the style of Tim McGraw or Rascal Flatts
7) Romantic pop a little like George Harrison or Moody Blues
8) Latin beat pop/rock influenced by Joan Armatrading
9) Beatlesque pop/rock
10) Sentimental piano power ballad influenced by Ian Hunter
11) Beach'y pop/rock influenced by the Moody Blues
