During some of the darkest days of WWII, a group of pioneering women pilots left the safety of their homes and families and volunteered to serve their country as PILOTS. The experimental flying training program included apx. 7 months of flight training, learning to fly 'The Army Way."
While in training, the young women learned to march. They marched to class, to the mess hall, to the flight line and back to their barracks. As they marched, they made up words to popular songs of the day, and they sang.
In 1999, the Kappa Kappa Gammas of Baylor University volunteered to help recreate some of the most popular of the WASP Marching Songs.
Also included on the album is WASP Deanie Parrish's "WE GOT THE STUFF, THE RIGHT STUFF.' It is the one and only WASP rap song, telling the entire history of the Women Airforce Service Pilots program in rap! Rap is performed by Nancy Parrish, Director of Wings Across America.
