Details:
This synthesizer arrangement of Mercury is quite different from existing arrangements, e.g. Tomita. This is in part due to the wonderful tools and technology I have at my disposal, which wasn't available when Tomita did The Planets. This arrangement realizes varieties of timbres in a new and unique way.
Technical Notes:
All work was done in the digital domain. For sound synthesis I used the Zebra, ACE, Tyrell N6, z3ta2 virtual instruments. I used Uhbik for various effects, including reverb, grain, and distortion. I used Sonar X1, 64-bit for my digital audio workstation.
Bio:
Mike is a composer who lives in Evanston, Illinois, with his lovely wife, Tricia, and daughter, Kate. Also in his family are: Louie (dog), Seven (cat), Harry & Ron (guinea pigs), Cedric (leopard gecko), Hermione (hermit crab), and Zack (fish).
Mike has loved classical music for almost 40 years now. He composes to reflect his deep love of music.
