Martrell Harris was born on December 30, in Knoxville,Tennessee but was raised in the small town of Sweetwater,Tennessee. Church played a huge part of his life therefore by the time He was four years old he could be found singing or preaching into a microphone.
As he got older, people began to realize this wasn't just a normal kid but there was something different about him. Martrell began to cultivate his gifts and talents and by the age of 13 he had written his first song and was on the Praise and Worship Team at his home church
Greater Deliverance Ministries Inc. By the age of 15 Martrell was in regular rotation at a worship leader and sang in churches across the East,Tn region. After graduating high school in 2009 at the top of his class with honors he moved to Nashville,Tn to study Business Management
but later changed to Music Business to further develop his craft at Middle Tennessee State University. After moving he joined his current church Mt.Zion Baptist Church with Bishop Joseph W. Walker III as his spiritual covering. There he serves as a member of the worship team.
Martrell has shared the stage with some of Gospel Music's biggest artist including: Judith McCalister, Darwin Hobbs, Benita Washington, Tonya Baker, Byron Cage, J.J. Hairston and many more. Some of Martrell's inspirations include: CeCe Winans, Vashawn Mitchell, Bishop Joseph Walker,
and Israel Houghton. Listeners will hear influences from various artist including CeCe Winans, Vashawn Mitchell, Benita Washington, and Israel Houghton, R.Kelly, Issac Carree and many more. Though Contemporary Gospel, Martrell above his smooth and melodic vocal abilities is a worshiper
and believes that every time he takes the stage that God will show up and do what only He can do. Martrell has appeared on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Radio, Streaming Faith, and other media outlets. Martrell is set to release his anticipated single "Right Away" in 2011 and his CD "Past the Gates"
