Stalkz is undoubtedly one of the Gold Coast, Australiaâs most celebrated hip hop artists. Heâs been laying low for the past few years, and is about to return to the scene with a BANG. That bang heâs referring to is a brand new 12 track album entitled âWe Never Leftâ. Itâs a hi quality mix album featuring new music from Stalkz and an array of talent ranging from household names such as The Winnie Coopers, Trace Elements & Dj Butcher to ferocious new comers such as Kamal Ali, Frekwent C and Lozzy Ozborne. The album made complete with the instrumental stylings of US super producer Vherbal of Anno Domini Records.
When asked, what was the inspiration behind the album? Stalkz replied â The Gold Coast scene was stagnant, I couldnât see it going anywhere without a massive boost. This album is a shot of life, an awakening, itâs consumed my everything for the last two years of my life. Itâs my gift to the Gold Coastâ. And when Stalkz says gift, heâs not joking. This 12 track celebration of Gold Coast Hip Hop will be available for free download from his website www.stalkzhiphop.com.
The first single from the album entitled âLocal Mcâsâ is already a massive hit, with the quirky film clip receiving national attention, and the track itself receiving national radio play and thousands of downloads. The several industry insiders to get a sneak peak of the album have gone as far as calling it â The Gold Coast album of the yearâ. But donât take their word for it, judge for yourself.
2011 has been a whirlwind year for the local musician. On top of finishing a 12 track album and shooting a hi quality film clip. Heâs also been deeply immersed in the promotion/mentoring of other artists and was even nominated twice at this yearâs Queensland Music Awards in the categories of Regional and Urban.
