Pat Smith, Arlene Bennett, Margery Keller and Skip Ruhnke are members of the Healing Winds Natime American Flute Circle at Wellness House* in Hinsdale, Illinois. The flute circle is for cancer survivors, family members and caregivers. The group created this CD to share the healing music of the Native American flute with those who like quiet music for relaxation and for letting go of the stresses of the day. Most of the songs are "from the heart" in that they are created on the day of the recording and have not been written down. As a way of giving back to the organizations that have helped us heal, 10 of the proceeds from the sale of this CD will go toward cancer support programs.

Members of the flute circle contribute to their various communities by playing at the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Luminaria ceremonies and fundraising events. In addition, they provide music for church services, teach children at Edward Hospital Cancer Center and Wellness House who have a cancer survivor in their family to play flute, entertain retirement communities, participate in Women's Day events and provide background for memorial services.

*Wellness House is a cancer support center that provides support groups for adults and children, exercise, nutrition, stress management and bereavement. All programs are free of charge. It is supported by private donations, grants, fundraisers and corporate sponsorships. This CD is our way of saying "thank you" for their support of our flute circle. We hope that you will enjoy the musical journey of this CD.
