Full of suprises but with a common thread of heart running through it. A stand out debut album with fusions of Groove/Dance/ Folk/ Indie Pop with influences from Celtic/R&B/Reggae/Jazz/Hip Hop and beyond. Impossible to pigeonhole and that's its strength.
11 MP3 Songs in this album (66:11) !

Details:
"I get excited about fusing styles and nothing I do is really pure in style. I love so many genres I would hate to be confined to one or two. It is the absolute freedom to express myself in whatever way I feel that I love about writing music. I play by ear and don't really know the rules so I'm not always aware when I'm breaking them. I base my decisions purely on how it sounds and how that sound makes me feel. I want to encourage people to start whatever they feel inspired to do at any age, as I came to music relatively late in life.
Better late than never!"
Songwriter/singer/artist, Roslin Sinclair grew up in London England and moved to Hawaii at the end of 1999. The Big Island of Hawaii is a far cry from inner city British life, and proved a fertile environment for the music and art that Roslin had been incubating back in the UK. Within the first couple of months on the Big Island, an encounter with singer/actor Stephanie Tatum through involvement in a theatre production resulted in a close friendship and the forming of the band Redd. Roslin says "I heard Steph sing one line on stage and knew I wanted to work with her."
Also featured on The Island (Reggae) Version of Calling Me Home is Jamie MacDonald, a Scottish laddie Ros met when she worked at an adventure playground in Nottingham, England. As an an adult, Jamie flew out to Hawaii and recorded this song that fuses Celtic folk with a distinctive Island Reggae rhythm. This song includes spoken Hawaiian and is as Ros says "A nod to my home, the Big Island."
As a teen Roslin's family (Ros as her mates call her) moved from London to the middle of nowhere in the Cambridgeshire countryside. For just over a year her "Lifeline" and what kept her sane was the Pirate Radio station, Radio Caroline. This station introduced her to all sorts of new music, including artists from the States, and she now attributes much of her early musical influences to it.
The next move the family made was to the City of Nottingham, famous for it's nightlife. Ros felt at home in the two main music scenes of the city's Nightclubs. Both in the predominantly black music clubs playing soul/reggae/funk/R&B/House/Hip Hop etc and the New Wave/Punk/Brit Pop/Folk/ Indie/Rock venues. Nottingham's cultural musical mix added a whole new set of influences and a love of dance music which she shares with Stephanie, whose own influences and inspiration comes from the 60âs R&B/Soul/Motown Sound,70âs disco & hard rock such as Zeppellin .
In 2008, the pair met grammy nominated producer Reggie Griffin and this meeting resulted in their first recording with him, Another Lifetime. Ros was excited at the opportunity to work with the producer of music she had danced to and ultimately been influenced by in the clubs back home in Britain. "I couldn't have asked for a better fit musically than Reggie. The fact that he can play pretty much every instrument really well didn't hurt either. We were 'stoked' as they say here in Hawaii."
Art is Ros's other great passion and one of her paintings is featured on the album cover.
