At Time to Heal:
Won Trip is an interesting juggernaut of both eclectic and plain old ghetto tracks and vocals. Featuring Dammian Moore's strong and rich vocals and lyrical content on several tracks produced by Lucky Luck Getz. It has Lots of instrumentals, "The Mind is terrible thing to Waste" borrows lyrics from one of Lucky Lucks favorite poets, and Motivational speaker, Dennis Rahim Watson. Lucky Luck even plays the C-Harp (Harmonica) on "1st and foremost- the shout out song". Lucky reminds you of a freestyle hip hop preacher or better yet, a black irish priest who delivers while sipping from a flask. I mean he pops off with whatever is on his mind from the real to the surreal. Both random and poignant. A capturing of two mens reality within a time and a very certain life experience.
I'd say, overall in short something like....Imagine Public Enemy, Advocating for justice, while on a lil absinthe (but something else) self medicating the affects of a traumatic brain injuriy, resulting from police brutality Stop & Frisk policies, police thinking "I'm The Police- I can do what I want" way of policing mentality, while protesting!
His style as a whole is one that will attain mass appeal, to many who share his voice, or not However, characterized by political upsets, shattered dreams, bizarre commentary and a willingness, to remain whole and Unbroken, willing to overcoming any obstacle- Won Trip is like the covert occupy Wall Street campaign, except, it's on your listening devices.
Although "Won Trip" materialized during a certain time. It's not about, the horrors of Police brutality and the bad politics. It a healing album, an awareness album, a Unity album, and more so a work that show perseverance, living, not just surviving, but courage to over come these things, with your freedom.
"Won Trip" was created using The MTV music Generator 2, Digital Hitz Facotry, Some Garage Band Loops, and Magix Music Maker Deluxe.
All post Production was done with the the respective software, on The Sony playstation 2 Console, with the exception of Garageband, done in Garageband on Apple desktop.
All song recorded, mixed and mastered in garage band by La Mont "Lucky Luck" Young.
All Song, except, Brentwood Kid, Malfunction, Destruction, How Did I get Here, The mind is a terrible thing to waste, were written by La Mont Young.
Brentwood Kid- Dammian Moore
Malfunction- Dammian Moore
How Did I get Here- Lamont Young and Lanine Wilson
Destruction- Dammian Moore and La Mont Young
The Mind Is a terrible thing to waste- Poem "Think" written by Dennis Rahim Watson burrowed from "Words... for Lover, Friends, and Enemies"
