Lee Negin is a composer, sound sculptor, multi-instrumentalist, synthesist, producer, and recording engineer. A prolific composer and videographer, he has released several videos and recordings in 2011. In January, an EP of video soundtracks was released; in February, his latest CD, âHungry Ghosts.â In September, a piece, âWithout Reasonâ will appear on a compilation from Daidalos Records (Chile), and a new CD of ambient/electronica/experimental work, âWu Weiâ will be released. Several digital singles were also released, including his latest, âWTFâ (with video). 2012 will see the release of an opera (slated for February), and more, including a tour of Europe and some Asian cities.
His influences include, in no particular order: Claude Monet, Van Gogh, Bushido, Sumi-e painting, Chanoyu, Matsuo Basho (Haiku), Ukiyo-e, Zazen, Seung Sahn, Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse, Thich Nhat Hanh, Japanese landscape/gardens, Barney Fife, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, Cocteau Twins, Joni Mitchell, George Clinton, Nihoncha (green tea), Shakyamuni Buddha, Lao Tzu, Vegetarianism, Miyamoto Musashi, Moe, Larry and Curly, Philip Glass, Brian Jones, Wu Wei, Winnie the Pooh, Paul Kantner, Gong Li, Pete Townshend, Tangerine Dream, Picasso, Frank Zappa, âMind Expanding Medicine,â Wabi Sabi, Kyoto, Paris, Muir Woods, Vangelis, Conny Plank, Bach,George Martin, Prince, Shakespeare, JRR Tolkien, Philip K.
