Shane Sutton is originally from Indianapolis, IN and learned to play the guitar and bass at the age of 14. After playing in bands through high school, Shane opened an all ages club called The Sitcom and toured while playing in the band Once Again from 1991-1995. Becoming burned out Shane moved to Salt Lake City starting a the label, Culvert Records putting out a couple 7"s and eventually booking shows again at various clubs from 1996-1999. After moving back to Indianapolis for a year, the instrumental studio project Aviation Weather was born in 2000 at a depressing time in the depressing city of Las Vegas, NV. Thanks to the help of a couple of amazing musicians from the current band Atlas Takes Aim, Shane was able to record a couple songs in their studio where they also contributed to the writing. After spending a year in San Diego in 2003 Shane was able to move to his desired home of beautiful Portland, OR in 2004. This is where the studio project, Aviation Weather was a focus of concentration and really started getting going. Two full length cd's were picked up by the music licensing co. Rumblefish, while the songs were used in several indie movies and online medias including still currently on Youtube being available for free audio swap, they were never released or distributed to the general public. Shane started writing Fires and Accidents in Jan of 2010 in his new studio in Portland. After writing, playing, recording, and mixing everything himself for a year and a half the first release from Aviation Weather, Fires and Accidents was released October 25th 2011. Thanks to Tim Stollenwerk from stereophonics who lent his amazing ears to master Fires and Accidents.
