Pale Man Made take touches of all the best 80s and 90s indie bands, add a caustic commentary on
working life, relationships, animals, politics and snooker players and engulf the whole thing in a
melodic whirlwind of boy-girl scuzz. Think the best Scottish twee pop (The Pastels, The Shop Assistants,
Orange Juice) blended with a dose of the ferocity of The Wedding Present, all clouded by a gentler take
on the heady fuzz of My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
The band have recently finished working with producer Steve Whitfield (The Cure, The Pale Saints,
Pylons, Trash Can Sinatras) on their second album Red Box Secrets and double A-Side single B-Line/
Started in 1966 is the first UK taster of the masterfully honed fuzzy pop which lies within. The single will
be released as a free download on Tiny Lights Recordings on October 10.
The bandâs previous work has garnered high praise. Indeed, debut record Oh, My Treasured Things,
described by NME as âa thing to treasureâ was voted Album of the Week by Huw Stephens on Radio 1
and received excellent reviews and international airplay.
