We're just home folks from the rolling hills of Georgia - Happy to bring you a true country blues variety collection of songs. Please take the time to share a little info on the album. Also get to know us with some background on Tlee Brooks,Iris Harden and Jerry Walker- the artist & songwriters. **Tlee & Iris recently had a real tragedy. They were severely poisoned by a toxic agent in their home. They lost most possessions & fight to survive. Support and prayers from all appreciated. Enjoy Truckin On!

We write all sorts of material, sometimes of a serious nature, like our 911 Tribute CD. That was emotionally hard to do. We also write many inspirational songs. But we got to really enjoy ourselves on this project! Just a fun CD!

We'd like to dedicate this CD to all those TRUCKERS out there on the road.So our first song is upbeat and positive-TRUCKERS CARRY THE LOAD. You know, we appreciate what you do. You keep things moving from town to town - yea, you make the world go around! Without our TRUCKERS the nation would come to a STOP as we know it. So how's about a big 10-4?

Also with our truckers in mind, we couldn't resist writing a comedy - ROADKILL CAFE - where you can come on in and join us - any day or night - sit down at a table - order up a bite - when you walk away you'll know - you've been treated right - The Roadkill Cafe will dent your appetite!
And hey, this is just a song in fun - We love animals - Lost our cats - Patch & Lucky - And sure do miss them. So don't call out the animal activists..deer me....

We included a pretty love ballad - BROKEN COWBOY - That little lady holding down the homefront thinks her cowboy is a knight in shining armor - as he hangs his hat each night and puts his dusty boots away - they sit around the fireplace thankful for another day..

But love can treat you good or love can treat you bad. As the mood and tempo changes- READ BETWEEN THE LINES - of these two blue bloodshot eyes - been in a bar all night trying to drink away her lies - him and old Jack Daniels know what's racing thru his mind...

If you wanta stay young at heart - or if you need a song for for someone about to hit that Big 4-0 mark..LIFE BEGINS AT 40 - brings a twist of humor along with some good advice as to avoiding those birthday blues!

HILLBILLY FRIENDS..walk and talk the talk -when they hunt and fish and shine - for that's the way they was taught -ain't no sophisticated state of mind..So lucky to have me some Hillbilly Friends!

You'll hear and feel those blues as RODE HARD and PUT UP WET shares the woes and hard times of love, unfulfilled!

Now LITTLE RIKKI TIK will have you dancing to his tune as he's living out there in the woods, with those spiders and snakes, ain't got no tire heaps, no trash dumps..

Once again the blues kinda groove in FORTY STUFF -for when you think of Forty, here's what it means - F is for the future - O is an ode to sing- R is for renewal of the spirit and soul- T is for the treasures you'll cherish and hold - Y recalls your yesterday - but like a roll of the dice..FORTY brings you worlds unknown - a brand new era in your life.

GLORIES is a beautiful instrumental as Tlee's finesse and grace sets the spirit free.

Background on TLEE BROOKS, IRIS HARDEN, JERRY WALKER

Tlee was born in Alexandria, Va. A self taught musician, he has played guitar, bass and keyboards for over 25 years. He traveled the Midwest for about 15 years, with mostly show and Top 40 groups; was back in DC area for about 10 years in clubs, concerts, whatever paid the rent!

Tlee opened for Merle Haggard at Capitol Center with a local N. Virginia band. He toured with the late Big Al Downing on the road & locally.

Tlee picked with Billy Joe Shaver (CMA Songwriter Hall of Fame)..He then moved to North Atlanta area to pick with friends and became involved with independent studios.

Tlee was presented Musician of the Year 1994 by Atlanta Society of Entertainers. A few artists he's backed up are Carl Perkins, Bobby Goldsboro, Del Shannon, Jeannie C. Riley.

His composing and performing original music has been a very pleasing outlet for his rich, creative spirit. Having played everything from bluegrass to jazz/soul/blues/gospel has given him a lot of feeling to draw upon when writing. He's pretty much done everything but classical music. The life of a musician has certainly had its' challenges, but very satisfying work.

Tlee's was doing inexpensive, but really good song demos in the studio to help other lyricists and songwriters. Many folks just need a quality demo or lyrics put to music. Helping talented writers see their works become a reality is a good feeling! He and Iris worked together .

Iris Harden started playing piano in her church when she was 12. She realized she had a gift for writing lyrics and songs when she was around 14. She devoted many years using her creativity and talents for enjoyment and to bless others. She lived with a lot of pain. Then, she was totally devastated by a hand injury. She almost gave up all hope of playing the piano again. and felt her musical aspirations has ended! Obstacles and pain seemed to be overwhelming.

Yet a passion still lived within her heart! "I have to write! It's a wonderful outlet for the creative spirit. God gave me the strength,ability and courage to go forward. My desire is to make a difference to the world through song! I won't let the adversities of life steal my dreams!"

Iris has won numerous awards for creative writing. A few of them are:

Iris has many human interest stories of her gentle, giving spirit through music. She loves writing for special needs and subjects many overlook. Yet, she writes almost any type of material. May bring a tear, smile,love or laughter. With 100's of songs behind her she hopes to write as many more. She works with Tlee. To take someone's ideas or thoughts and make the perfect lyric is a joy and maybe sometimes, a challenge she gladly accepts. Sharing dreams; Setting goals and a positive attitude toward life keeps her going.

She's done missionary work, with her daughter, in Mexico. The people there and especially the little children tugged at her heart! This was a lesson in being thankful for all we have in life and don't complain! God is so good.

Iris appreciates support of her music and prayers from all of you. Your encouragement is felt deeply. She is happy to be releasing Truckin On. Hopes you all enjoy it. Thru much hard work and miracles she has 2 more CDS on out: 911 Tribute & Surviving The Storms are really from the heart and also donate a to well respected Charities.
