Thin December is a Sacramento based, indie rock band with the talent and drive to impact the modern music scene. Embarking in 2003, the four individuals who compose this group are as follows: Johnny Cowan - front man, guitar, and lead vox: Jimmy Ward - guitar and vox: Jeremy Reeves - drums: and Jason Alves â bass.
The history of Thin December began when founding member Johnny Cowan invited Jeremy Reeves (who had played in a previous band with Johnny) to join him and the original bass player as a three piece. Jimmy Ward became the fourth member after the dissolving of his previous band led to his much coveted skill being grabbed up by Thin December.
Recognizing their need to release a competitive album, Thin December teamed up with visionary producer/author Sean Farrington and began the recording process. Unfortunately, half-way into the project, the bass player left; nearly proving a fatal blow to the band and itâs future. Seven months after the departure of their bass player; the newest member, Jason Alves, (an old school friend of Johnnyâs) was discovered when bumped into at a concert. Upon learning that he played bass, he was asked to audition. Jason confirmed his place in Thin December and brought renewed life and excitement back into the band.
With the release of their self-titled debut album, Thin December is rapidly gaining recognition as a powerful influence on the local scene. Whispers of greatness are sure to reach your ears as every show increases the following and impresses the crowd with elevated melodies and rich, rock tones.
