SINEMATICA is an epic journey through soulful electronic music with the warm sounds of piano, guitar and vintage keys. Influenced by Moby, Air and Zero 7, Sinematica is lush with beats and beautiful melodies ranging from downtempo to
drum-n-bass.
11 MP3 Songs
ELECTRONIC: Down Tempo, POP: with Electronic Production
Details:
Composers Thames and Harris set out to combine elements of different musical genres into a hybrid of soundscapes; sometimes soothing, sometimes haunting... but always beautiful. Harris brings to the mix his love of breakbeats and basslines while Thames plays his heart out on guitar, synths and piano. The result is an exciting experience for ear drums of all tastes: sometimes funky and other times poignant and remorseful.
The album "Original Soundtrack" was conceived over a period of 2 years before it was released. The first year consisted of weekly Saturday night recording sessions between the two composers at Soulstudio7 in West Hollywood.
After 6 months of tracking, the two spent the second half of 2004 editing and arranging each song into its own mini-odyssey complete with solos, intros, verses. choruses and breakdowns.
In 2005, SINEMATICA spent many hours mixing, listening and remixing until
the end result was a warm and silky listening experience. Finally they enlisted
R. Walt Vincent (Pete Yorn, Liz Phair) to master the record with all tube Manley
outboard compressors and limiters.
Lastly it came time for the photoshoot and artwork which SINEMATICA did themselves. "We wanted to have fun with the album art but at the same time create something original and memorable" Harris explained. "The idea is that Thames and i are like Starsky and Hutch or Crocket and Tubbs (Miami Vice) circa 1981. And i think the concept works because we really were influenced by the soundtracks of both those TV Shows". Thames adds that "The photo on the back cover is the bad guy with the gun counting his cash. He's like our Arch Nemesis, he's a hitman, and if you look close you'll see theres a photo of us in his briefcase because we're his next hit".
SINEMATICA also composes original music for TV, film and videogames and
all songs on this album are avaible for liscensing.
Byron Thames is also not only an excellent singer/songwriter, but hes a strong actor as well. To contact Byron and see his personal work go to

Matthew Harris runs a music/design studio and his work is on display at
www.soulstudio7.com.
