Melodic Rock with a Style and Purpose, A true blend of energy, soul and blues.
13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Classic Rock, POP: Beatles-pop
Details:
Rock/ Alternative/ Pop
The Good News is an explosive original rock group out of Hoboken, New
Jersey with a vibrant sound. Bandmates Owen Corso (lead vocals/guitar),
Christine Kevan (lead vocals/guitar), Jon Gleich (drums), and Tolga
Bukmen (bass) reach out and capture listeners with a fresh mix of male
and female vocals, strong harmonies, and tasteful melodies. Their debut
album 'Lies, Lust and Love' is an ingenious 13-song collection of
soulful rock 'n' roll. The album really takes you for a ride, moving
through folk, blues rock, funk and reggae. Their lyrics connect with the
audience so easily because they write about the heart. Drawing from a
wide range of influences such as Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, U2, and The
Black Crowes, they have created a blended sound all their own.
The title track 'I'll Lie to You" is cavelier rock 'n' roll and starts
the album off with a driving riff. It's an honest depiction of single
life in New York City, and the games men play to get what they want. The
second track 'Try Me' welcomes sax into the mix with an upbeat tempo and
philosophical lyrics which display the emotions that occur that the beginning of a relationship. Another great track titled 'Feelin' brings a funky punk-rock into the mix and dishes out non-stop beats and compelling vocals.
Among the several acoustic driven tracks, Jersey Dreams, much like many of the works in Bruce Springsteen's catalogue, uniquely illustrates the great state of New Jersey with imagery drawn from the NY/NJ metro area as well as the Jersey Shore.
In addition to the 13 tracks on the album, there are 4 music videos posted on the band's website courtesy of You-Tube.
