The Threefold Theory has long been a belief of a wide cross-section of people, from religious zealots to Wiccan philosophers. Whether it is good or bad, a person will receive what they give by three.

It might seem like an odd source of inspiration for a rock band, but imagine this: three seasoned musicians utterly fed up with the current state of musical affairs - the unnecessary drama, backstabbing and superfluous trash talking between bands and musicians.

Through this realization, Pete Hurt, Scott Niles and Nik Phelps decided to form a band based on a novel idea: write and perform music from the heart - genres and commercial radio formats be damned. And since winter 2003, Threefold Theory has been and will be all about giving each performance as if it were the last. People can recognize and connect with such unbridled emotion, and it is the band's goal to give this to every person with the hope that they will return it.

That being said, Threefold Theory is a rock band without borders. With far too many influences to cite, Threefold Theory can run the gamut of musical genres at the drop of a hat. It is this diversity that sets the band apart from many of its contemporaries.

While music can be an escape, it can also be a release. This is the approach that Threefold Theory takes to its songwriting, and this style is evident in the bands debut release "loveHATElive", which was released on July 8, 2005.
