Many people dream of making it big under the bright lights of Hollywood but, 75 miles south of Atlanta is a town called Macon, Georgia which is rich in music history and the birthplace of music legends such as Little Richard and Otis Redding. You wouldnât be able to tell with its quaint southern setting that Macon is also the birthplace of two of the southâs finest MCâs. Introducing The S.E.T (Southern Elite Team), D. Cater and Goodie Supreme.

A common love for hip hop and musical influences from genres such as 70âs soul/funk, rock and R&B, is what drew D. Cater and Goodie Supreme to come together as a group when they met in grade school in 1993. Although their style is unlike any other group, their chemistry is often compared to artists such as Outkast and Method Man and Redman. Backed with music production by D. Cater, and rhymes by both D. Cater and Goodie Supreme, The S.E.T has created an underground buzz by opening shows across the southeast for artists such as Pastor Troy, Rasheeda and many more. With the underground release of mix tapes The S.E.T also had the streets impatiently waiting for their highly anticipated self titled album in 2006. The S.E.T has set a standard for southern hip-hop music that doesnât represent the typical rap music of their region. âWe represent hip-hop in its truest formâ says D. Cater.
