Details:
Ben Ekstedt and Matt Nystrom are the band's two permanent forces behind the acoustic pop / rock drive of Threefold. Ben effortlessly masters the challenge of singing lead vocals while drumming. Matt provides background vocals and melodic guitar work. For live performances, the band utilizes the talents of Erik Nystrom, as a bassist to finish out there well-rounded sound.
In February of 2004, Threefold traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to record their second full-length album, Through the Torn Curtain. To produce the project, Threefold turned to Grammy Award® winning producer/engineer Mitch Dane (Dane received a Grammy Award® for his work on Jars of Clay's 2002 release, The Eleventh Hour). Guest appearances throughout the record include Matt Slocum, formerly of Sixpence None the Richer, and Jars of Clay members Stephen Mason and Aaron Sands.
Through the Torn Curtain was released in May of 2004 and has since received strong reviews from industry professionals and fans alike. Stylistically, the record is a unique blend of alternative acoustic rock akin to the varying sonic idiosyncrasies of Coldplay, Jet, Maroon 5, Jars of Clay and Matchbox 20.
