Delightful melodies fromt eh folks tradition of the 14th to 18th centuries, arranged for Celtic Harp
16 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Traditional Folk, CLASSICAL: Traditional
Details:
"Honey's playing is soulful, even is that isn't the right word for Celtic harp music. She clearly has a profound feel for this music and we are the winners for her keeping it alive." -Chris Jorgensen, Jackson Citizen Patriot
"...a unique and powerfully bewitching performance." -Folk on Tap, UK
""Her style is reflective and thoughtful and creates a distinct presence among harpists." -Dirty Linen
"...her rhythmic prowess and ability to draw out multiple voices from the single instrument make these pieces sing." -Victory Review
Childhood fascination with the harp blossomed into a career for this Houston native. Therese Honey's entrancing virtuosity and vast knowledge of early music evoke another time and place. She's a superb arranger as well. Ms. Honey won first polace at the Gulf Coast Celtic Harp competitions of 1994 and 1995. Historical notes enhance the recording. Therese Honey's artistry is a magical confluence of devoted scholarship, superb technique, and profound qualities of soul. She welcomes her listeners to a place of rest, reflection and reverence.
