HIP HOP/RAP: West Coast Rap, WORLD: Native American
Details:
The A.I.M. is music created by Native American rapper Blue Eagle Vigil and his rotating band of cohort M.C.'s. Blue Eagle was born and raised on The Viejas Indian Reservation in East County San Diego, California. He grew up surrounded by the harsh realities of reservation life. Everyday drama, violence, criminal pressures and hope became the subject of rhyme for Blue Eagle. He began composing music and lyrics modeled in West Coast fashion following the tradition of Cypress Hill and N.W.A. After years of underground success Blue entered Revolt Recording Studios in Santee, California in July of 2005 with producer Adrian Brown and began recording his debut CD titled 'Contents Under Pressure'. He called his crew "The A.I.M." (American Indian Music). The fifteen track hip hop collection provides a spirited view from the inside of Southern Californian Indian mayhem and triumphs. Guest appearances include: Mr. Shadow, Halo of Papa House Records, newcomer Mike Dogg, Kali' Shawn, and So. Cal. songstress Brea of Deep Rooted. In the finale Blue and A.I.M. member Lost are backed by DJ Ralph M. of FUNKDOOBIEST. Look for The A.I.M. to be performing at a club near you. This album has been nominated for Best Rap/Hip Hop recording at The 2006 Indian Summer Festival Music Awards which will be held Sept. 9 - 10 in Milwaulkee, WI.
