After a 2 year sabbatical, Thomas Fagan is back with 26 new songs that run the gamut from rock to country to a style that can be best described as Andy Griffith meets Larry David and they write some songs and get Doyle from "Slingblade" to sing them.

Most of the songs here were recorded over the last couple of years, although some are older. I pretty much "retired" from making music in the fall of 2003, but every once in a while I'd pick up the guitar and some poems and lay down a track or 2.
The first 3 songs may not be worthy of being the first 3 songs, but I tend to go by the last-in first-out method. They just happened to be the last 3 songs I recorded. My brother Daniel gave me the picture of my 2 Golden Retrievers, Neptune and Cosmo, jumping out of the surf in Fort Morgan, Alabama. It made me think of all the times I'd felt the undertow pulling me out, and how I've always managed (like most people), to make it back. I thought it was a good metaphor for a lot of things in life that try to pull you away:
"that wave hit me like a frieght train
flipped me round like a toy
haven't felt so vulnerable
since I was a little boy,
got back up and went in the surf
it's something I could never outgrow
riding waves without a board
surviving the undertow"
Here's a few words from "One Less Brain Cell...":
"Another day, another tension
Chores I'm too bored to mention
I wake up every day
With one less brain cell, at attention"
And from "Shut Your Face":
"My little boys a teenager
He get's smarter every day
I just listen in awe
At the magical things he'll say
Shut your face!
Shut your face!"
And from "Natural Disaster":
"The fire in your heart
It burned me to the ground
I handed you gasoline
You went out and played around
Today I'm gonna change
You're not my cup of tea
You're a natural disaster
Who tried to wreck and raze me."
And from "All I Wanted" (about my mom):
"All I wanted was another time
To hear your voice on the other line
Letting me know your love was true
The biggest part of all I knew."
All songs written, performed, and recorded by Thomas Fagan in a cramped, messy room in Trussville, Al.
I hope you find something you like out of the 26 songs here.
