Details:
Lucky is a Chandler Arizona based Indie-Rock band. Lucky draws from a large palate of sounds. They are influenced by 70's rock, 80's post-punk, and 90's Alternative Rock. They mix their influences together to create a cohesive sound that is that both unique and familiar.
Lucky formed in October of 2005 when, singer-song-writer, Mark Mason placed a classifieds ads online for musicians to help put together a band for live performances. Matt Mahler, guitar, was the first respondent. The second respondent was Mike Vigil, drums, who then gave Mark's long-time friend Jeff Lockridge, bass, incentive to join in. From their very first practice session they all knew that they had to form a band. Their first show was in January of 2006, and their second show was on Arizona's local morning show Good Morning Arizona. Before long Lucky found they were playing more shows than they would have imagined, and recording with every spare minute.
Lucky independently released Hope For an A, an 8 track E.P., in August of 2006. Hope For an A takes the listener on the journey that Lucky went though in their birthing. The songs were recorded with a production ethic intent on reproducing the songs with the feeling of a live show. All of the songs retain their natural live crescendos and decrescendos as well as the musical interactions and improvisation that sparks Lucky's live shows. The songs blend into each other, and improvisational jams usher in musical scene changes.
