Details:
Midnight Raving Angels by the Sexies.

A regular fixture on the Los Angeles club scene, the Sexies introduced the world to their signature retro rock sound in 2003 with their self-released debut, Smiling Politely.

After supporting the CD with over 50 shows, taking them from hometown hot-spots such as the House of Blues, the Viper Room and the Derby to the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, England, the band retired to a self-storage unit in Van Nuys to work on a follow-up.

Late in December of 2005, Todd Heinrich (lead vocals, guitar), Jerry Buszek (drums, backing vocals) and Chris Gyselinck (bass, backing vocals) emerged with impish grins and a copy of what would become Midnight Raving Angels.

Midnight Raving Angels continues the Sexiesâ examination of the bandâs Mod roots such as the Beatles, the Kinks and the Zombies while adding elements of early seventies glam rock, Americana, hints of Motown and even a slice of Monty Python. The albumâs upbeat rhythms and catchy melodies contrast sharply with dark lyrical imagery of isolation, war, aging, loss, faded memories and a girl or two.
