S. J. Says:
Tales from the Road was a labor of love, for love of the people who helped me get it recorded and everyone who's become family since I started touring full-time. I decided to release these recordings, not because they're the best of the best, though they're not too d@mn shabby, but because they are the best cuts from two very good performances -- one a house concert, the other a radio show.
The Ann Arbor house concert that the bulk of Tales from the Road's tracks came from what remains one of the ten best shows I have ever had the pleasure to give. When a performer finds herself in front of an audience who really gives back to her, no matter if she's singing in a stadium or in a living room, the music really can go on all night. It very nearly did in this case--hence my threatening to kill anybody who asked for an encore at the close of the album.
There is a great deal of bonus material on this disc as well, which you will find if you get the chance to put the album in your computer's CD drive. Just after sending Tangles (S. J.'s latest studio album) to print, I appeared on KRFC FM, Fort Collins, Colorado's volunteer-run FM radio station. My volunteer host and interviewer on the KRFC program Live @ Lunch led me through the best one-on-one interview experience I've had to date. It was a great way to begin an afternoon, and the station had me back on the program in early January 2006. You can learn more about KRFC FM and listen to KRFC online by following this link: http://krfcfm.org/stream/index.php
Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy this album in all its facets. This is the first full-length album I've released with any interactive goodies on it. Please don't hesitate to send your thoughts on it once you've listened
and explored everything on the disc. It is because of the love, support, and listening ears of my fan-family all over the world that I am blessed to keep walking the road I walk as a full-time performer, truly living my dream.
Rock on from your Lady Vagabond,
SJ
