The Teapot Dome Scandal
People, poetry, passion.............paranoia?
only if you're interested in looking for something other than..........................................idolmania.

"She'll never see the sun, she only walks in shadows now,
She's a star climbing up,
but everything gold
has faded out."

The Teapot Dome Scandal began way back in 1999, the brain child of Brisbane based singer/poet Chris Hetherington. Fusing together quirky pop, bass-driven tunes with some even quirkier lyrical observations on the part of the enigmatic singer, the teapot dome scandal began gigging regularly on the local brisbane indie music scene. After two recordings (1999 and 2002), the teapot dome scandal began receiving radio airplay on Australia's national indie music station JJJ. Now, in 2005, they are set to release a debut album to the world, called "YOU RUINED MY REVOLUTION" so everyone can enjoy the underground sound, and lyrical puzzle that is unique to The Teapot Dome Scandal.

About the Band Members:

The vocalist/lyricist is Chris (nickname: would really like one but nothing ever seems to stick) he is generally obsessive about anything that interests him, so anything that he has, he has a lot of.
The bass player is Natalie (nickname: fatalie ) she loves to design clothes and make interesting items and even sells purses in shops.

The drummer is Todd (nickname: Todd said with a European accent of some kind, depending on who is saying it, feel free to experiment) he takes lots of photos and likes riding skateboards made out of skis down big hills and often has pieces of skin missing.

The guitarist is Phil (nickname: Philly) he likes playing cricket in the hall way and dreaming up ideas for funny films.

The keys/sampler is Marj (nickname: Pole) she herds children, paints and likes to make up and collect interesting names, her latest is Vizzy Warbucks.

What other people think:
The lyrics gave an excruciating impression of broken hope, but with a perceptible cheek reoccurring............ All eyes were on Chris, whose showmanship could've made Robert Smith blush like a little boy. There was something unmistakably fresh about these guys. They presented a whole and defined world to us, not only through their music, but through their relationships with one another and their impressive stage presence. ................Celeste Gillies
