Huge guitars, stompin' beats, boozy vocals, great stories, tongue in cheek lyrics, giant hooks and just enough twang. Ted's 4th CD, "Cheap Liquor" is pure Rock 'n Roll/Americana/Alt. Country at it's best.
8 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Classic Rock, COUNTRY: Country Rock
Details:
Ted Wulfers brings the party back to Alt. Country/Americana Rock & Roll with his new eight-song CD, Cheap Liquor, his first on independent label Patchdog Records.
An ode to his favorite pastimes - women, drinking, legendary music and more - Wulfersâ Cheap Liquor exemplifies Wulfersâ credo that there is âno such thing as closing time.â Exposing his Country roots, a knack for great lyrics and his guitar-driven Rock & Roll lifestyle, Cheap Liquor has already caught eyes and ears across the country while building its own reputation in clubs, saloons and on the street through amazing shows and a very catchy I heart Cheap Liquor sticker.
With its dynamic guitar work, stomping beats, tongue-in-cheek lyrics and twangy vibe, the title Cheap Liquor not only speaks for itself but is a record everyone can enjoy. âItâs the product of a rock ââ¬Ën roll life on the road and good times at the bar and in the studio,â said Wulfers.
In addition to writing and composing Cheap Liquor, Wulfers produced the disc working closely with engineer, Manny Sanchez (Billy Corgan, Rod Stewart, Umphreyâs McGee), and a band of killer musicians that include: Ted Wulfers (Lead Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Organ and Harmonica), Jeff Kelly (Drums/Percussion), Matt Ciccone (Keyboards), Aaron Weistrop (Guitars), Mike Racky (Pedal Steel) and Paul Allen (Bass). New York rocker LP (www.LProck.com) also lent her vocals to sing a remarkable duet with Wulfers.
Cheap Liquor was recorded in Chicago at Gravity Studios, SOMA, The I.V. Lab, the Chicago Recording Company and Schubas Tavern and was mastered by Richard Dodd (Tom Petty, Big & Rich, Brooks and Dunn).
âMore than ever, I am thrilled to do what I do. I appreciate simply being around to enjoy the amazing opportunities my life and career has offered me,â said Wulfers. âAnd I try to capture as much of that as I can and bottle it up into my songs and shows to share with my fans. This is a ââ¬ËTedâ record!â
Touring since 1996 with his back-up band, Beggarâs Bridge, and with more than 20 years of personal music-making experience, Wulfers now tours in support of his 2005/2006 release, Cheap Liquor. Wulfers also continues to write, with more than 500 songs to his credit and four independent releases: Upstream (â97), In The Spirit (â99), Agave Blue (â02) and Cheap Liquor (Patchdog Records â05/â06).
