Tim Emmerick brings a fresh perspective to the American roots rock tradition that is literate, melodic and straight up rocking. With nods to folk, country, southern rock and punk, it's a classic blend--it's rock and roll.

ROCK: Roots Rock, ROCK: Americana
Details:
Tim Emmerick
âPut a good sound with infectious melodies and
Iâm hooked. Did I mention his voice? Fantastic.â
â Dave Cuomo, Urban Folk, New York
Undefined. âFor matters of business I usually call my music âroots rock.â Itâs just the easiest name Iâve found,â says Tim Emmerick, whose music cannot be pigeonholed to one musical genre. With elements of folk, country, southern rock, punk and rock nâ roll, his music offers something to every musical taste.
Recorded during a one-week session at the Seaside Lounge in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York, Emmerickâs debut album, âNorth,â is artful alternative country at its finest. He incorporates classic rock, bluegrass, old country, punk and contemporary rock in his eleven original songs.
âI love being in the studio environment. Its sole existence is to capture music and itâs reflected in the vibe of the space. That vibe is always comforting and somewhat validating for me.â
Emmerick wrote the music and lyrics for âNorthâ over a two-year cycle of reflecting, writing, composing and rewriting in his Brooklyn apartment. Each track tells a story â using real life, real people.
The album is the reflection of Timâs family experiences while trying to negotiate responsibility, obligation and personal desire.
âIf I donât feel personally moved by a particular story or angle I just try to avoid it. I try to tell the truth, because Iâm a bad liar.â
In addition to the strong lyrics and a voice like tempered glass,
the instrumentation of âNorthâ is a buffet. Pedal steel guitar, fiddle and piano complement the traditional rock line up and honest vocals. His unexpected instrumental roster leaves the listener wanting more.
Grammy Award winner and veteran art director Brian Grunert (Ani DiFranco/Muse) signed on to develop the album packaging â which is a piece of art itself. âNorthâ will be available this fall through all major Internet music services and through retailers upon request.
