Tenry Johns Bio:
Tenry Johns has come a long way from his humble beginnings in a small town in the Delta called Shelby, Mississippi. He started his own band at the age of 15, and after high school, he migrated to Chicago. In the mid-60's, he started playing with his cousin Johnny Drummer. Then, he and his brothers started The Johns Bros. Band with Denise Lasalle and Bill Coday fronting the band. After years of gigging around Chicago and surrounding areas, he met Harry Glen from Marvel Records, where he released his own 4 song EP. He then teamed up with a Gemico label recording group called The Notations and put together a band named Nitro and travelled as their band leader.
After the group broke up, Tenry started writing and producing his own songs. Now Tenry Johns has released 3 CDs on his own label, Tenry Music: "In Here Tonight," "Need Your Love," and his latest, "So What." All three CDs have good upbeat blues and soul vibes, and some have a rock or country feel. Check out 30 second sound samples from each CD on the sound page!
