Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico where she studied voice and acting. She debuted at 15 years old in her first childhood musical called "Plum el Aventurero". She graduated Cum Laude in Drama and Music from the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, and simultaneously studied piano and voice at the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico. At the age of 19 she debuted at the Centro de Bellas Artes with the Symphonic Chorus, the Chorus of the University of Puerto Rico and the Coral Bel Canto which allowed her to stand-out as a soloist. Currently, Tannia is promoting her first album titled "Extasis" with her mentor Maestro Rey Casas. Her interpretation is as a magical voyage filled with illusions and diverse cultures through songs that mix traditional and modern musical genres. The Flamenco is evoked with the theme "Desgraciado" the rhythmic/pop ballad with a touch of Middle Eastern rhythms in "Mírame" along with "Adiós que te vaya bien", a type of light reggaeton as well as other songs which allow the discovery of this versatile vocalist and composer. Fusion of new wave sounds with the vibrations of the guitar, percussion and other instruments enables this production with the touch of elegance known in the World Music genre. "Extasis" is an album created with the vision of a new era. Tannia currently resides in Miami, FL and just opened her own musical Academy called "Kendall Studios" (visit www.kendallstudios.net). The talented Puerto Rican raised previously sang opera and now looks for new challenges. She's known in the artistic media for her staring role of the musical "El Balsero Marcelino". She also collaborated in the television production of "Moon over Miami" and various appearances in soap operas such as "Guadalupe", "Morelia" and dramatizations in "Ocurrió Así" of Telemundo Network. Tannia also participated in the musical "Camelot" of Gold Coast Opera in Fort Lauderdale. She made her acting and singing debut with the Musical Company Sociedad Pro-Arte Gratelli in the role of "Candelita", a mulatto slave from the 19th Century from the Cuban zarzuela "El Cafetal". In her next role as âGretaâ she demonstrated her varied acting ability. Continuously she toured with Gratelli and worked in additional musical productions like in her role of "Greta" in "Rosa la China" and in a starring role as "La Faraona" in the operetta "La Corte De Faraon". Currently she is collaborating as a technical vocal judge in the TV Program "Buscando Estrellas" of America TeVe, Channel 41 and the Spanish Soap Opera "Las dos caras de Ana", a Televisa production.
