Tammy Stamps is a new voice on the music scene with the release of her debut CD âFreeâ in June of 06. Inspired by her own life experiences of love, abuse, heartache and joy, she employs acoustic guitar to create simple, heartfelt tunes that engage her listeners to sing along. Her unique sound is an easy listen and has been described as âcontemporary folkâ filled with emotion. Born in California, most of her roots are in Wichita, KS where as a fifth degree black belt master and Olympic contender she owns and operates a martial arts academy. Music has been her life passion and is now her second career. She sang in local establishments for a number of years and will now be heard internationally with the inclusion of âNo One Elseâ on âThe Big Indie Comeback- Vol IIâ out of the UK, coming out in the Fall of 06. CD listeners have made requests to have her sing âYou Make Me Wholeâ at their weddings and she now travels the US to share her music. A philanthropist at heart, Tammy has engaged in opportunities to share her music at a variety of charitable events including a humanitarian project to bring arts to small communities. Her music is slated for airplay at Matchbox 24 in the UK , Radio Crystal Blue in New York City, Nette Radio in Dallas, Tx., Mvy Radio in Marth's Vineyard, Sleepycat Records, NTG Radio and Radio Free Jackson in Michigan. As far as the artist herself, Tammyâs other passion is Martial Arts. She was a US Team Alternate in 1989 and has medaled at the US Team, US Olympic Festival and National levels many times in Taekwondo . She now owns and operates a Martial Arts Academy in her hometown of Wichita, Ks and has been training for over 25 years. She retired from competition in 1996, had a hip replacement in 2000 and was back kicking and punching within 1 year!
