Guitar Rock is reborn in south Mississippiâs Tailbone Smitty in the form of NOS Rock!! This group of four musicians from the deepest southern parts of Louisiana and Mississippi, specialize in this new original music genre that has been labeled "New Old School Rock" or NOS Rock for short. This new musical genre is reminiscent of the classic rock-n-roll style that every one knows, loves and misses with an added modern flair. Their debut album âBone Appetitâ (August 2005) serves up a southern fried digital burrito thatâs sure to warm the soul and feed the brain of everyone who thought real rock-n-roll was âresting in peaceâ. Primary guitarists/songwriters/vocalists Jimmy Stockstill and John Wolverton- each weaned on the best of Ë70âs arena rock ranging from Boston to Journey to BTO and that little ole band from Texas, the furry friendlies know as ZZ Top- have crafted sing-able tunes with- surprise, surprise, surprise- great melodies, great hooks and great guitar work. The massive wall of sound is rounded out by Tailbone Smitty's rhythm section, the Guru's of Groove, Bassist Johnny Davis and Drummer Jeff âDocâ Watson.
