Fresh, innovative, original that defines 2 musicians that bring talent back to mainstreamâ¦Ryan Tanner Bailey, guitar, bass, some keyboard (he seems to downplay the keyboard thing) composer, producer and an entrepreneur, by taking skill, passion and sound and creating his own record label.
Ryanâs musical background began in Colorado, fresh air, beautiful scenery and a young Ryan on piano, and moved to trombone, then to his present and permanent passion, the guitar. Ryan creates soul, classic, jazz, rock, country, neo-funk type boogie rhythms! Ryan is a co-founder of the billspeering band, and also played with the Fee-nom trumpeter, Sarah Kramer where he meets C12 an unlikely duo. You think!
C12 aka Carl Chavis, is an old closet musician, who wrote his first song at age 9 so that he could remember the cord structure. C12 sings and writes lyrics with 6 and12 string acoustic guitar, as well as keyboard, an occasional harmonica and a new friend, the acoustic bass. Love at first touch.
Summer 2004, C12 opened for the Sarah Kramer Project in a L.A. base club and the union was almost instantaneous. Within days these two cats were jammingâ and in a year they have a plethora of eclectic, vibracious music, clean but a little untamed with class and great musicianship. Together they utilize all avenues from soul to country, jazz to rock, but they call it (just music).
The unsung hero is in the producer, where the genius is unveiled; his name, Shawn Nourse, drummer, composer and audio and digital master (Shawn Nourse has played and produced many projects; drummer for I see Hawks in L.A. and also drummer for Dwight Yochum).
Producing is Shawnâs magic; he put his magic in motion and gave Tanner/12 the potion. From track1 through track10, dynamics, drama and the crisp-clean licks, thundering drum rhapsodies complete the Tanner/12 style. If you ask these 3, Ryan, C12 or Shawn whatâs important in music, they will agree that having fun and doing what you love is ORGASMIC!!!
