Details:
When Bill Tannebring was gigging around Boston in the 70's he had every intention of making his career as a jazz pianist. And why shouldn't he? The city, and its musical Mecca the Berklee School, made Boston one of the most exciting jazz environments in the country. Performing regularly at The Jazz Workshop, Paul's Mall and the Inner Circle with musicians that included Mirislav Vitous, John Abercrombie, Peter Donald, Bill experienced many musical highs.

And because Boston was the home of other great other pianists at that time including Dave McKenna, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Alan Broadbent, Hal Galper and Jan Hammer, it's no wonder that Bill was able to develop the rich piano style that is uniquely his.

In recent years, Bill has been based in New York City, Dallas, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has played in groups led by David "FatHead" Newman and worked with singers Peggy Lee, Pam Ackerman and Mamie Lee. But he is heard most often in a solo or trio setting.

On this new CD, Bill Tannebring, Live in Laguna, he is joined by bassist Harry Smith and Drummer Jay Lacair. And while the tunes are standards, there's nothing standard about the interpretation. Here's a trio that swings from beginning to end.

Bill currently resides in Southern California and performs regularly in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco and Palm Springs.
