Description:

(ID 1549859)
Employee of the Month is the confusing new 12-song CD by singer-songwriter Troy Taroy. A rich poetic vision disguised as smart-ass non-sequiter. Catchy pop melodies filtered through a melenge of musical styles varying from metal to soul.

12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Classic Rock, POP: Quirky

Details:
"Quite amusing...Kinks-like!" -leftoffthedial.com
"Steely Dan on steroids!" -cosmik.com
"A bit of Weezer in there...minus the precious!" -allmusic.com

Singer-songwriter-nobody Troy Taroy's debut CD "Employee of the Month" demonstrates his formidable songwriting abilities: his acute sense of a catchy melody; a broad stylistic palate ranging from soul to metal to Christmas songs; and a disturbing tendency to say what he means by not saying what he means.

Taroy has played in bands of every stripe from punk rock and '60s R&B to faux Bollywood New Wave disco. His influences are equally varied including the likes of Steely Dan, Guided by Voices, Queen, Frank Zappa, Pavement, Otis Redding, 10cc, Slayer, and Burt Bacharach.

Allmusic.com describes "Employee of the Month" as "an album that sounds like the quirky guys in I.T. were put in charge of indie rock." I'm not sure what that means, but if you can bring yourself to purchase this inexpensive item, you'll undoubtedly agree that it's "a refreshing, uplifting listen"!
