Details:
Traci Rae Letellier is a female singer/songwriter hailing from Arkansas who unites the old with the newâthe raw with the ethereal. Her crystal vocals and artistic arrangements have earned her a loyal fan-base. Her three independently released recordings explore her musical roots as a Southerner with Celtic ancestry.
Elegies (2005)
Recorded in periodic sessions between 2002 and 2004 â the 2005 independent release, Elegies, is influenced by southern, Appalachian, Celtic, folk and blues musical traditions. It features six original songs by Letellier, including, "Autumn Song," "Misery Girl," "Rest Your Head, Love," "Minus Ab Angelis," and the bluesy, "To: Adam, Love: Eve."
A poem by the Jazz-Age poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay, makes a guest appearance to the backdrop of an original tune by Letellier. An instrumental collaboration by brach and Letellier acts as album interlude. Look for a handful of traditional tunes to round out the melancholy line-up, including the Civil War era songs, "Southern Soldier Boy" and "Johnny Is Gone For A Soldier," American spiritual, "Poor Wayfaring Stranger," and Southern folk hymn, "Jesus, Lover Of My Soul."
