Details:
The Transzenders are an acoustic rock trio, set to release their first full-length CD, SUNNY SIDE UP. Rich harmonies, solid rhythms and unique song structures are the cornerstones of this 12-song collection, while shimmering guitars and well-crafted lyrics add the appropriate spices. Whether performing an original song or a unique version of a cover song, Transzenders music creates a mood and mindset that is positive and upbeat.

The common thread in all Transzenders songs is lyrical, rather than stylistic. The group soars with songs that are meaningful, rejuvenating, and just plain fun. Listeners will recognize musical influences that range from Beatles to Bluegrass, and Tom Waits to Booker T and the MG's. Attending a live performance makes one thing certain: no matter how you feel at the beginning of the show, you will leave feeling better.

The group is made up of Gregg Bockover (vocals, guitar, and harmonica), Letha Costin (vocals, bass and percussion), and Miles Costin (vocals, acoustic and electric guitar). Their well-blended harmonies, dynamic musical arrangements and amazing guitar solos weave a rich fabric that pulls in the listener.

Gregg Bockover

Gregg Bockover is the founding member and primary lead vocalist of Transzenders. From his strong rock/blues rumbles to far-out falsetto, Gregg is the most vocally diverse member of the group. His vocal style allows the group to stretch into a wide range of musical genres. Gregg is also a prolific songwriter; his lyrical creations portray vivid imagery, tell great stories, and relay very bold messages. Gregg's solid rhythm guitar is an anchor for the group... but don't be surprised when he takes off on a wild guitar solo.

Letha Costin

Letha Costin was surrounded by a variety of musical influences at an early age, since her father was a musician. She sang in choirs from pre-school through college. Letha began her musical career with Transzenders as back up vocalist and percussionist. Letha also does some songwriting and takes an occasional lead vocal. In 2002 she began playing bass guitar, adding another level of richness to the Transzenders sound.

Miles Costin

Miles Costin has deep roots in the music industry. He began playing lead guitar at 14, and hasn't been without a band since. In his musical career, he's played rock, jazz, country, and blues. His expertise in these styles is vital to Transzenders diversity. Vocally, Miles rounds out the three part harmonies and enjoys a few leads. His talent in song arrangements, along with his kickin' guitar solos, completely energize the band's sound.

The Transzenders play private parties and cafes, and a large fanbase has come from playing in progressive churches in the Triangle area (Raleigh, NC). Because Transzenders believe in giving back, they also perform for fundraisers and special events. It is largely due to the support and encouragement received from this loyal following that SUNNY SIDE UP was created. Working with noted producer/engineer Dick Hodgin (Hootie and the Blowfish, Cravin' Melon, Far Too Jones, Flat Duo Jets) and recorded at Osceola Studios in Raleigh NC, SUNNY SIDE UP represents the band's first full-scale production of recorded music. While staying true to their acoustic sound, it also showcases some very talented guest musicians. The Transzenders have created a sound that moves through several styles, yet still sounds like the same band.
