Mellow as a harvest moon, hot as a Texan June, The Lazy Susans are a 5-piece chilli-powered purveyor of âwestern swing meets everythingâ. A country blues rockânârollinâ hoedown, they comprise three voices to die for, in a close-harmony embrace that will soothe your soul, mixed up with fiddles, ukulele, banjo, accordion, guitar and double bass. They are Rachel Thomas, Zara Ramm, Harry Banks, Saffron Young, and Tom Johnson. Their sound pays homage to the likes of Johnny Cash, Dan Hicks and Janis Martin (the âfemale Elvisâ), whilst remaining contemporary and gritty. They are hot, and they are cool.

The Lazies hale from Stroud in Gloucestershire where they have being wowing audiences since they got together around 2 years ago. Za and Rachel had been singing close-harmony show songs with The Domestic Goddesses and decided on a change of direction. Along came Harryâs low voice and banjo pickingâ fingers and a new sound began to emerge. The jet-fueled demon fiddler Tom kept on crashing their rehearsals so they gave in and invited him on board (Tom and Rachel were in Cajun rockânâroll band Bootfare during the 90âs, generating a lot of excitement in Texas headlining Kerville Festival and playing South by Southwest in Austin). There was nothing left but to ask serious groove-mistress, Saffron, on board to keep things steady in the bass-ment. Over the past year they have gone into composing overdrive and 'One More Time' is the fruits of their labours. A collection of songs about the pitfalls, pratfalls and joys of love, with a little idolisation thrown in for good measure, this album takes you on a roller coaster ride through the emotional undulations of love in all its forms.
