The original tracks, composed and played by kathrynkjburnett for her early 90's rap show, ICE CREAM, were stolen from her producer Andre Moore (the brother of Renee Moore, producer for artist, Foxy Brown) by George Clinton. George ended up plagiarizing all of these tracks from 1992 until 2008 (Escape from Guantanamo Bay/Ice Cream Don't Own No Guns) with the record companies' approval, because ICE CREAM was too radical for her time. But the prophecies of Ice Cream have turned to today's reality. You can't stop the streets and interracial mixing. Some of Ice Cream's political ideas were accepted by President Bill Clinton, who heard the tracks and turned a bomb plant into a homeless shelter (Breakoff) and reformed the LAPD with Willie Williams (Sheriff Ain't Sexy Enuf) and kept peace throughout his Administration (Bomb Pop). But what Ice Cream was really foreseeing was the meltdown-the advent of anarchy, riot and the fascism (Party Somewhere Tonight) that would prevail, if the rich kept on getting richer at the expense of the masses. She saw the results of greed, which are apparent today like the snake that ate itself, and eventually dissolved the record companies themselves through their own piracy and the attack of rogue pirates. Ice Cream railed against greed and racism, and the companies hated her, kept her in the dark, and chopped up her tracks into little pieces to fill the sampling machines at Interscope Records. For example, the track from Sheriff Ain't Sexy Enuf was used as the basis of the hit songs by Celine Dione (A New Day), Sade (Color of Love), and John Legend (If You're Out There). When Jay Z got the tape from his ghost writer Mel Man in 1998, he used the samples and got his company Roc-a-Fella signed to Interscope distribution using Ice Cream's ignorance as leverage. But in 2009, Ice Cream was allowed to come back, and this is the album that tells the story, and it is the story that is coming true today. And these are the beats that everyone now longs for, since she issued a Cease and Desist order to Universal Music Group in October 2010. ENJOY!
