George Middleton believes that music is a pure expression of life. As a musician by trade, he lives this motto captivating audiences with his smooth melodious sounds where ever he performs.

On his newest album, "That Special Place," Middleton selected songs that are both spiritual and soulful. This project is a mix of contemporary gospel with a splash of smooth jazz. "The musical pieces that I selected for this album are songs of notoriety that the average gospel listeners will recognize," said Middleton. "That Special Place" features a rendering of songs that will capture the spirit and evoke emotional reflection. Gospel hits on this album include "My Soul's Been Anchored," "I Love You," "Pass Me Not," "Help Me to Hold Out," and "A Change," originally created by Tramaine Hawkins. "I decided to do a jazz arrangement to Tramaine's song 'A Change' because she is a gospel legend that has such a beautiful voice. Putting a jazz arrangement to her music was a pleasure." "I'm excited that God has given me the opportunity to use my talent on a full-time basis to bless others," said Middleton. "I was inspired to create 'That Special Place' bec"That Special Place" is the second album project for Middleton. His first album, a compilation of original jazz music, was released in 2003.

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Middleton knew at a very early age that he wanted to be a musician. He perfected this talent while attending Indiana University where he was a music major. Upon graduating from IU, he continued his education complimenting his music degree with a Master of Science from Indiana Wesleyan University.

While the keyboard is his specialty, Middleton is a multi-instrumentalist, providing music lessons on such instruments as the drums and guitar.

This multi-talented professional is blessed with the opportunity to use his God-given talent full-time as a working musician and musical instructor. He is owner and operator of DBA Skyline Musique, a professional company that provides entertainment to organizational and personal events and also offers music instruction for family, youth organizations and school systems.

Middleton is also assistant minister of music for 25th Street Baptist Church in Indianapolis, where he provides musical leadership for two gospel choirs.
